ESSENTIAL FUNTIONS

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:

Assists clinic staff with patient care by receiving telephone call, scheduling appointments for patients, routing calls to proper area of the clinic, and taking messages when necessary.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Schedules appointments for the Family Practice, Pediatric and OB/Gyn offices to meet patient and provider requirements, in a friendly and professional manner
  • Answers telephone calls for the Family Practice, Pediatric and Ob/Gyn offices in a timely manner and routing calls to the proper area of the clinic
  • Assists medical staff by recording messages for providers and staff and routing the messages to the appropriate provider work list
  • Maintains patient confidence and protects clinic operations by keeping information confidential, following release of information protocol and complying with all legal and HIPPA requirements
  • Receives refill requests and routes them to the appropriate area of the clinic
  • Assists the Medical Records department by filing charts and pulling charts for the providers
  • Assists the Care Coordinators with continuity of care by verifying if patients attended their appointments and is reports have been received
  • Answers calls for all outlying sites when those offices are experiencing technical issues

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participates in in-service/education regarding Quality Improvement
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned or requested
REQUIREMENTS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to answer multi-line telephone system
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Experience answering a multi-line telephone system
